Appalachian Highlands United · Reports to the Director of Coaching / Director of Soccer
Two openings — Johnson City (Winged Deer Park) and Kingsport (Eastman Park)
Assistant DOCs implement the Director of Coaching / Director of Soccer (DOC/DOS) methodology at their assigned site and ensure coaches deliver training aligned with club standards. They serve as on-site technical leaders and mentors.
Position Focus
Assistant DOCs are the implementers of the DOC/DOS vision and on-site mentors ensuring consistency and field readiness across locations.
The Assistant Director of Coaching works in a dynamic, on-field environment leading weekly technical training sessions for multiple player groups, collaborating closely with the DOC/DOS and Technical Director to deliver a consistent curriculum, and serving as the technical lead at their assigned site. The role involves regular evening and weekend fieldwork, active session delivery, coordination with volunteers for field readiness, completion of safety inspections, and ongoing interaction with players, coaches, and families. ADOCs operate outdoors in varying weather conditions, manage small operational tasks tied to training quality, and contribute to a positive, professional, player-centered culture across the club.
